RUO peptides

What is PeptideApprove?

PeptideApprove provides merchant services for research-use-only peptide businesses and other eligible high-risk ecommerce merchants. It is partnered with the acquiring bank and handles qualification, onboarding, and ongoing merchant support.

Card-network access and money movement run through the acquiring bank PeptideApprove is partnered with, and through that bank's processing partners. Approval depends on underwriting and the written merchant agreement.

Does PeptideApprove specialize in RUO peptides?

Yes. PeptideApprove provides merchant services for research-use-only peptide ecommerce and other eligible high-risk merchants. RUO is the category the public site is built around.

Research-use-only describes products sold for research, not as consumer medicines. Acquirers and sponsor banks still review the website, product claims, and business model. A research label does not by itself approve an account.

What does research-use-only mean for a peptide merchant?

Research-use-only (RUO) is a labeling category for materials sold for research rather than as consumer or patient products. Payment partners still review how the site describes those products.

The glossary page on RUO explains why human-use claims create underwriting problems. PeptideApprove does not provide legal or regulatory advice about how a merchant should label products.

What types of businesses does PeptideApprove serve?

These merchant services are for RUO peptide ecommerce and other eligible high-risk merchants, including GLP-1 adjacent operators when the file fits a reviewed path. Clinical, pharmacy, telehealth, and patient-care models are reviewed separately.

Not every peptide business qualifies. Product claims, ownership, processing history, and the website all matter. Merchants apply at the existing application and submit the documents that form requests.

High-risk payments

Is PeptideApprove the acquiring bank?

PeptideApprove provides the merchant services and is partnered with the acquiring bank. The acquiring bank sponsors card-network access and money movement. PeptideApprove is the merchant-services company the merchant works with.

Qualification, onboarding, and ongoing support are PeptideApprove's work. Settlement runs through the acquiring bank it is partnered with, and that bank's processing partners.

How is a PSP different from an acquiring bank?

An acquiring bank sponsors the merchant into the card networks and settles card funds under network and bank rules. A payment services provider (PSP) supplies the technical and servicing layer that sits with that bank relationship.

PeptideApprove provides those merchant services and is partnered with the acquiring bank that sponsors the merchant and settles funds.

How is a merchant-services provider different from a processor?

PeptideApprove provides merchant services: qualification, onboarding, and ongoing support, in partnership with the acquiring bank. A processor moves the transactions with that bank.

Contracts should name who underwrites, who settles, and who the merchant calls for support. Those parties can be different companies.

Why are peptide businesses considered high risk?

Card acquirers often treat peptide ecommerce as high risk because of product claims, regulatory attention, dispute rates, and the chance a mainstream processor will exit the category. That is a risk classification, not a statement that every peptide merchant will be declined.

High risk usually means tighter underwriting, possible reserves, and closer review of the website. It does not publish a single industry price, and PeptideApprove does not publish one either.

What is high-risk payment processing?

High-risk payment processing is card acquiring for businesses that banks consider more likely to draw disputes, regulatory scrutiny, or reputational concern. The merchant is underwritten against that profile.

Programs may ask for more documents, set reserves, or limit certain products. Terms are specific to the merchant agreement, not a universal peptide rule.

Merchant accounts

What is a peptide merchant account?

A peptide merchant account is the card account a peptide business uses to accept cards. PeptideApprove provides the merchant services for that account and is partnered with the acquiring bank that sponsors it.

The account, if approved, is governed by the merchant agreement, card-network rules, and the acquiring bank's requirements.

What is an RUO peptide merchant account?

It is a merchant account reviewed for a business selling research-use-only peptides, rather than a general retail account or a healthcare account that may need separate credentials.

Compliant RUO retailers are not asked for LegitScript. Clinical, pharmacy, telehealth, and patient-care models may be. Eligibility is still subject to underwriting.

What types of businesses may qualify?

Eligible RUO peptide ecommerce merchants and other high-risk profiles the program can underwrite may qualify. Qualification is not guaranteed.

Review looks at the legal entity, ownership, website claims, product mix, processing history, and the documents submitted with the application. Merchants that cannot be safely onboarded are declined.

Can a startup peptide company apply?

A startup can submit the application. Approval is not promised for new businesses, and there is no published minimum-volume rule on this site.

New companies should expect questions about the entity, the website, and how products are described. Missing documents delay review.

Where is the program available?

The public site describes service in the United States. Other geographies are not published.

The application still has to match a partner that can sponsor the merchant. Location alone does not approve an account.

Application process

What information is usually required to apply?

The application asks for the legal entity, EIN, registered address, website, owner identity and home address, government ID, a proof of address less than three months old, formation documents, and the settlement bank account in the legal entity’s name.

A bank statement for that account is required. A driver’s license or identity card needs the front and the back. Sole proprietors provide the last four digits of a Social Security number instead of an EIN. Do not upload card numbers, bank login credentials, or a full Social Security number. After the file is accepted, the processing agreement is emailed to the owner.

What happens after an application is submitted?

PeptideApprove reviews the merchant profile, then routes a complete file for sponsor-bank underwriting. The merchant is told what path fits, or if the file cannot be onboarded.

Eligible merchants with complete information can receive an underwriting response in about 48 hours. Card acceptance, if approved, is described as beginning within 72 hours after all documents are in. Both timings depend on review and are not a guarantee.

How does merchant onboarding work?

You complete the application on this website, upload the documents the form requests, and PeptideApprove reviews eligibility before a partner underwrites the file.

Start at the apply page. The form collects the legal entity, the owner, and the settlement account. Pricing, reserves, and settlement are confirmed in the merchant agreement if the account is approved.

How do I contact PeptideApprove?

Email hello@peptideapprove.com for sales and onboarding@peptideapprove.com for onboarding. Merchants apply and submit documents at the application on this website.

There is no published phone line, legal entity name, or founding date on the public site. Those fields are omitted until they are confirmed.

Underwriting

How long does peptide merchant underwriting take?

Eligible merchants with complete information can receive an underwriting response in about 48 hours. Incomplete files take longer, and some files are declined.

The 48-hour figure is a response time for a complete application, not a promise that every merchant is approved. Card acceptance, where approved, is described as within 72 hours after all documents are submitted.

Why can the underwriting response be faster?

PeptideApprove reviews peptide merchants as its specialty, so the file is not treated as an unfamiliar category. The application asks for core KYC and KYB items up front.

Speed still depends on whether the documents match the business and whether a partner can approve the profile.

Why would a peptide merchant be declined or delayed?

Common reasons are incomplete documents, website claims that do not match a research-use-only posture, unresolved compliance questions, or a risk profile the program cannot sponsor.

A delay is often missing information rather than a decision. Approval depends on KYC/KYB, product category, chargeback history, and program rules.

How should a peptide merchant prepare for underwriting?

Use a legal entity that matches the bank statement, describe products consistently with the sales channel, and submit the documents the application lists without card numbers or online-banking passwords.

Have the EIN, principal details, and a recent statement ready before you start. If a prior processor closed the account, keep that correspondence. It is part of the story a reviewer will ask about.

What is the card approval rate?

Qualified merchants are described as seeing a high card approval rate. No percentage is published. Results depend on traffic quality, issuer mix, product posture, and the compliance profile.

Card approval rate means issuer approvals on customer transactions. It is not the same thing as the merchant's underwriting approval.

Pricing

What does peptide payment processing cost with PeptideApprove?

PeptideApprove does not publish a card rate. Pricing, fees, and reserves are confirmed in writing after underwriting and partner approval.

Any rate a merchant sees inside the application flow is part of that application, not a public price list. The cost calculator on this site estimates a bill from numbers you type in. It is not a PeptideApprove quote.

What can change a merchant's processing price?

Underwriting can weigh product mix, volume, dispute history, delivery method, and the partner program. The written merchant agreement is the price that applies.

Teaser rates and volume ladders are common in high-risk processing. This site does not advertise a ladder or a starting-at percentage.

Can I estimate processing cost before I apply?

Yes. The payment-processing cost calculator estimates monthly cost, annual cost, and a reserve hold from the volume, ticket, rate, per-transaction fee, monthly fees, and reserve percent you enter.

You can also enter a second rate for comparison. That second rate is yours. The calculator does not insert a PeptideApprove price. Estimates are not an offer.

Reserves

Do peptide processors require a rolling reserve?

Some programs do. PeptideApprove does not require the same reserve for every merchant. Reserve terms, if any, depend on the profile and are written into the agreement.

Qualified merchants may be eligible for reserve structures that match volume, dispute history, and compliance posture. That is not a promise of a zero reserve.

What is a rolling reserve?

A rolling reserve is a portion of card sales the acquirer holds for a period and then releases on a schedule if disputes stay within the program's terms.

The held amount and the number of days are contract terms. This site does not publish a single reserve percentage for PeptideApprove merchants. The glossary describes a 180-day reserve as an industry concept, not as this program's default.

Chargebacks

How do chargebacks affect a peptide merchant account?

Disputes can raise reserve requirements, trigger reviews, or give a partner a reason to exit a merchant. The effect depends on the count, the reason codes, and the agreement.

This site does not publish a card-network chargeback threshold as if it were PeptideApprove's rule. Keep fulfillment records and product descriptions aligned with what the customer bought.

Settlement

What is T+1 settlement?

T+1 means standard funding is described as one business day after the processing day, where the program approves that schedule.

T+1 is the standard path where approved. Push to Card, Real-Time Payments, ACH, and wire may be available by program. They are not guaranteed for every merchant.

What settlement options are available?

Standard settlement operates on a T+1 schedule where approved. Push to Card, RTP, ACH, and wire payout options may be available depending on the merchant and the program.

Card issuance may also be available for approved programs, including physical or virtual debit cards where the rules allow. Availability is confirmed in writing.

Can PeptideApprove issue cards?

Card issuance may be available for approved programs, including physical or virtual debit cards in the customer or merchant name where the rules permit.

Issuance is not part of every approval. It is confirmed in program terms.

Compliance

Do RUO peptide businesses need LegitScript?

No LegitScript is required for compliant research-use-only retailers using PeptideApprove's merchant services. Clinical, pharmacy, telehealth, and patient-care models may require healthcare compliance credentials and are reviewed on a separate path.

That is how these merchant services are offered with the acquiring bank PeptideApprove is partnered with. It is not a claim about every bank or network. Merchants are still responsible for their own legal compliance. PeptideApprove does not provide legal advice.

Does PeptideApprove give legal or medical advice?

No. PeptideApprove does not provide legal, medical, or tax advice. Merchants are responsible for lawful operations and accurate website claims.

Pages that discuss LegitScript, RUO, MATCH, or card programs describe merchant-services practice and point to primary sources when a rule is stated. Platform policies change and should be confirmed with the platform.

Who writes the educational pages?

Educational pages are published by PeptideApprove as an organization. This site does not invent author biographies.

Each new informational page shows a last-reviewed date. Platform, network, and legal rules should be checked against the source because they change. See the editorial standards page.

Payment gateways

What is a peptide payment gateway?

In this context it means the checkout connection that lets an approved peptide merchant accept cards. PeptideApprove provides merchant services with embedded checkout and no customer redirect, through gateway or API integrations where the account supports them.

The gateway is the checkout connection. Acquiring is done by the acquiring bank PeptideApprove is partnered with. The specific gateway is confirmed during setup.

Can I keep my current checkout?

In many cases, yes. The program supports embedded checkout with no customer redirects and can work with common ecommerce setups through gateway or API integrations.

Whether a specific cart is supported is confirmed during onboarding. The application does not require you to rebuild the store before you apply.

WooCommerce

Does PeptideApprove work with WooCommerce?

WooCommerce stores can be a fit when checkout is connected through an embedded gateway or API and the merchant is approved. There is no separate WooCommerce rate on this site.

High-risk WooCommerce processing still goes through the same underwriting. The cart does not change KYC, product review, or reserves.

What payment gateways work with WooCommerce?

WooCommerce accepts many gateway plugins. PeptideApprove does not publish a plugin directory. Approved merchants are connected through the program's embedded checkout or API where that integration is supported.

Ask during onboarding which connection the program will use. Do not assume a mainstream plugin that underwrites its own merchants will accept RUO peptides.

Shopify

Can peptide companies use Shopify Payments?

This site does not state Shopify's current eligibility rules. Shopify Payments availability is Shopify's decision and can change. Confirm it in Shopify's restricted-businesses policy before you rely on it.

A store can be on Shopify and still need a separate merchant account if Shopify Payments is unavailable. That path, if any, is an underwriting question, not a claim that PeptideApprove is a Shopify Payments replacement product.

Stripe alternatives

Can peptide companies use Stripe?

Confirm Stripe's current restricted-businesses policy with Stripe. This site does not treat a third-party policy as permanent, and it does not promise placement if Stripe has closed an account.

Many peptide merchants look for merchant services after a mainstream processor will not support the category. PeptideApprove can review an application. Prior termination does not guarantee approval. Existing comparison notes live on the Stripe pages and should be read with their dates.

Can peptide businesses use PayPal or Square?

PayPal and Square publish their own acceptable-use rules. Those rules are not restated here as current fact. Check the provider before you depend on the account.

If an account is closed, keep the notice. It is useful context for a later underwriting file. It is not, by itself, a reason PeptideApprove will approve or decline.

What should a merchant do after a processor shuts the account down?

Save the closure notice, stop assuming the old checkout will keep working, and apply with current business documents if you want PeptideApprove to review the file.

A shutdown is not the same thing as a MATCH listing. Ask the prior processor whether a MATCH entry was filed. Do not send card numbers or customer card data with the application.

MATCH

What is MATCH?

MATCH is Mastercard's terminated-merchant file. Acquirers report certain closures, and later banks can see that a business or its principals were listed.

The glossary page explains the list. Being listed is serious. It is not described on this site as an automatic lifetime ban from every program, and it is not described as something PeptideApprove clears.

Can MATCH-listed merchants obtain payment processing?

Some high-risk programs will review a listed merchant and some will not. PeptideApprove does not promise processing for MATCH-listed businesses.

A review, if one is offered, depends on the reason for the listing, the documents, and partner appetite. Bring the termination paperwork. Approval remains subject to underwriting.
